Emile Bacha, MD

Emile Bacha, MD is the Chief of the Division of Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery, as well as the director of congenital and pediatric cardiac surgery and a Calvin F. Barber Professor of Surgery at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Bacha is board certified in surgery, thoracic surgery and congenital heart surgery specializing in valve repair and reconstruction, neonatal cardiac surgery, hybrid procedures complex biventricular repairs, and adult congenital heart surgery.

Dr. Bacha has been named one of America’s Top Doctors as well as New York Metro Area’s Top Doctor by Castle Connolly's Top Doctors™ in 2013.

Dr. Bacha attended Ludwig Maximilians University in Germany for medical school, did a residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Klinikum Grosshadern University Hospital and Emory University Affiliated Hospitals, and fellowship programs at Massachusetts General Hospital, Hospital Marie-Lannelongue in France and Children's Hospital of Boston.
