The 1-year Advanced Structural Echocardiography Imaging Fellowship provides its fellows with extensive experience in all aspects of Structural Echocardiography, including pre-operative assessment and intraoperative imaging guidance of structural interventions including: transcatheter aortic and mitral valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair (i.e. Mitraclip, Neochord, Cardioband), transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions, left atrial appendage closure, and paravalvular leak closure. Training will include standard 2D and 3D echocardiography, as well as strain and fusion imaging. The Structural and Valvular Heart Disease Center at Columbia University is one of the busiest structural programs in the United States with >800 procedures per year. There are extensive opportunities for clinical research at the medical center and through collaboration with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. Exposure to structural CT imaging is available for interested applicants. Strong preference for applicants who will achieve level III echocardiography training by the start of this fellowship.
Fellowship runs from July 1st to June 30th. Interviews will be held in the late summer/early fall of the year preceding the fellowship start date, with applications accepted the spring prior to the interview season.
